The Emmy Award goes to ABC News using KA Poll in Iraq

(Iraq, 2005-2008) ABC News “Iraq: Where Things Stand”, a special coverage broadcast in March 2007 based on the March 2007 Public Opinion Poll in Iraq was honored as “Best Story in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast” at the 29th. Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards ceremony of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in New York on September 22, 2008.

The March 2007 Public Opinion Poll in Iraq, conducted just in advance of the surge of U.S. forces, painted a devastating portrait of life there, with accounts of widespread violence, displaced families, emotional damage, collapsing services and an ever-starker sectarian chasm.

The poll was conducted between February 25 and March 5, 2007, for ABC News and its partners USA Today Newspaper, the BBC World News and the German network ARD, NHK Japan; with in-person interviews of a random national sample of 2,212 Iraqi adults. The fieldwork was conducted by KA Research Labs (KA Research Limited Turkey and KA Iraq – Office of Research), in cooperation with D3 Systems, Inc. and ABC News Polling Unit..
